KIMBALL L. GARRETT TO SPEAK AT MAY 24 MEETING

Well-known locally, Kimball Garrett has been the ornithology collection manager for the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History since 1982. He is highly regarded as having the best knowledge of local, exotic, and common birds in southern California.

Nationally, he is well known for two major books he co-authored with Jon Dunn, Birds of Southern California (1981), published by the Los Angeles Audubon Society but now an out-of-print classic, and the Field Guide to Warblers of North America, published in the Peterson series in 1997, considered to be the definitive on that identification topic.

He will discuss his latest research and book, co-authored with Jon Dunn, Birds of the Los Angeles Region.

The 7:30 PM meeting will be held at The Encino Community Center, 4935 Balboa Blvd., Encino CA is between Moorpark and Ventura Blvds on the west side of Balboa, just south of the Presbyterian Church.
