When you read the current copy of The Phainopepla, you will see that our Christmas Bird Count is scheduled for Saturday, December 20. This is an important event and all eyes are welcome to help us get an accurate census of the birds in our area. We hope you will join us!
As you can see, we have several counts in different places led by different leaders. If possible we ask you to e-mail the leader for the area you choose in advance so that s/he knows how many helpers to expect and can plan accordingly.
That evening we will be having a social event to collate the results and wish ourselves a happy holiday season in the home of one of our members. It will be from 5:30 p.m. to around 8:00 p.m. Details about how to e-mail to confirm that you intend to attend and to get the address are also in The Phainopepla. If you birded all day, we will treat you, but if you have the time, especially if you did not bird at all but wish to attend, we do ask you to bring a dish.
