Haskell Creek at this time of year is a sorry sight. Full of plastic, evidence that too many folks don't care what they throw on the ground or where it ends up.
That's the depressing part. The happy part is that in three short hours on Saturday the 17th of September, a crew of dedicated people who aren't afraid to get their hands and feet wet will make Haskell Creek look like...a creek. A stream. Right here in the middle of Los Angeles. Amazing.
Please be there. Nine o'clock on a Saturday is not torture. Bring water shoes or boots. Bring a grabber if you have one. Gloves. It's work, and it's a little messy, but it isn't gross. It's fun, and the result is something to be very proud of.
Help Haskell Creek stay ahead of the plastic bags, milk cartons, six-pack rings and other stuff.
With all the divisiveness in our country right now, you'll enjoy spending three hours with people you agree with: urban creeks are worth protecting!
