Our annual Conservation Awards Luncheon will be held on March 4, in beautiful Franklin Canyon Park. We'll be feasting in the event room next to the Visitor’s Center. Our honoree, former Congressman Anthony C. Beilenson, will speak following the presentation of the award for his years of dedicated activism on behalf of the Santa Monica Mountains and Balboa Park.
In lieu of a Service Award this year, we will be celebrating our wonderful Angelfest Committee which worked tirelessly to prevent a giant music festival from being held next to the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve. We will be thanking Sharon Ford, Jim Houghton, Muriel Kotin, Kris Ohlenkamp, Mark Osokow, Dave Weeshoff, and Jackie Wollner.
The luncheon will be held at 1:00 p.m. There will be an optional bird walk led by Muriel Kotin, meeting at the Visitor’s Center at 11:30 for early birders!!!
The luncheon, catered by Harvest Moon, will feature delicious sandwiches, savory salads, and scrumptious deserts. We will have our traditional basket raffle along with silent auction of the lovely native plant centerpieces.
