Malibu Creek State Park Bird Walk
April 16, 2017 @ 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM
An event every month that begins at 8:00am on day Third of the month, repeating indefinitely
Considered the recreational crown jewel of the Santa Monica Mountains, Malibu Creek State Park has over 8,000 acres of rolling tallgrass plains, oak savannahs and dramatic peaks. It's no wonder many call it "The Yosemite of Southern California". If we didn't see a single bird, it would still be a great walk -- but as it is, the park shows off a wonderful assortment of thrushes, flycatchers, raptors, buntings, "exotic" sparrows, warblers (in season) and myriad other species. Check the MCSP bird checklist for full details.
Meet at the second (lower) day-use parking lot. Entrance to the park is on the west side of Las Virgenes Rd., just south of Mulholland Hwy. Entrance fee is $12 per car
Leaders: Muriel Kotin (310) 457-5796
