SFVAS's premier field trip. In addition to Pigeon Guillemot and Chestnut-backed Chickadee, we sometimes see a rare Long-tailed Duck (formerly called Oldsquaw), Common Goldeneye, all 3 loons, Common Murre, Brant, Black Oystercatcher, Black Turnstone, Surfbird, all 3 cormorants, Long-billed Curlew, Peregrine Falcon, Brown Creeper....the list goes on. A great trip, a great location.
For those who haven't been before, there are accommodations galore in Morro Bay. A simple Google search (CLICK HERE) reveals a menu for every taste and budget. Be sure to bring whatever liquids and/or food you might want while birding in the boonies.
