July 30, 2016 @ 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Guest Speaker: National Geographic Photographer Joel Sartore
International Bird Rescue's mission statement can be boiled down to three words: Every Bird Matters.
Explore the behind-the-scenes world of Bird Rescue
Follow an oiled bird’s journey from rescue to release
Participate in a family-friendly interactive experience
Learn how to contribute to wild-bird conservation
Meet Bird Rescue’s wildlife response team
Eat lunch at an onsite local food truck
Enjoy an immersive and interactive art experience
Also enjoy the stunning images and message from our special guest Joel Sartore, who photographed oiled wildlife during the Deepwater Horizon spill for National Geographic. This is a unique opportunity to celebrate the last 45 years and look ahead to our future in wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.
SFVAS's Conservation Chair, Dave Weeshoff, will be hosting a Q & A table all day for ANY questions about our patients, why & how they come to us, which species he's seen in his 11+ year tenure (with photos, especially the rare and unusual birds), how we rehab them, unique therapies, feeding, release sites, oiled bird cleaning, bird banding, etc. Any questions you have, Dave will be there to answer them to what ever level of detail you'd like. This separate educational table is especially for our Audubon friends and their inquisitive friends and families. In the unlikely event Dave can't answer your question (!!), IBR’s Veterinarian and Vet Staff will be there as well.
