Conservation Awards Luncheon

Saturday, June 4, 2022 - 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM

This event has passed. Check out the Event Calendar for upcoming events.

This event will give us the chance to honor our 2020 Conservation Award winner, Pat Bates, and our Service Award winner, Rose Leibowitz. The luncheon will take place in the events room next to the Sooky Goldman Nature Center with sandwiches, salads, and desserts provided by Harvest Moon Catering. Music will be performed by Steve McCroskey, and we’ll have our traditional raffle of baskets filled with exceptional merchandise. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase this year’s native plant centerpieces via silent auction.

Muriel Kotin will be leading an optional bird walk around Franklin Canyon Park, which will begin at 10 AM. Please meet in the parking lot at the appropriate time if you’d like to participate.

If you already paid for 2020’s canceled luncheon, you’re good to go, no extra cost. But you’ll need to RSVP, so please email us at sfvaudubonsociety@gmail.com so we can adjust our expectations accordingly.

If you’re making a new reservation, the cost is $35 for adults and $15 for children under 15. To reserve and pay for your tickets, please use the form below. Alternatively, a check can be mailed to SFVAS, P.O. Box 7769, Van Nuys, CA 91409.

I'd like to buy adult tickets and child tickets.

I'd like to contribute $ to help others attend.

Please RSVP by May 28. Casual Attire.

For Google Map directions from wherever you are, click on “Event Location” below, then “Get Directions”. If you prefer verbal guidance: from the San Fernando Valley: take the Ventura Freeway (101) or Ventura Boulevard to Coldwater Canyon Boulevard. Head south to the intersection of Coldwater Canyon and Mulholland Drive. Make a 90-degree right turn onto Franklin Canyon Drive. (This means crossing Mulholland) Road signs read “Road Closed 800 Feet” “Sunset to Sunrise”; this is the park entrance. Allow some extra time, as Coldwater Canyon can be a slow road. Signage will be posted to facilitate access to the venue. Handicapped parking is available as well as drop off areas for attendees as needed. Nature Center signage will indicate the location. Email c.oppenheimer@sfvas.com for directions to these parking spaces.
