Zoom Event: The Great Sandhill Crane Migration – Conservation Success in the Midwest

Thursday, April 25, 2024 - 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

This event has passed. Check out the Event Calendar for upcoming events.

The speaker for our meeting will be Matt Fong, Director of Fundraising and Outreach for Crane Trust. This organization works to preserve and maintain habitat for both the most numerous and rarest of 15 crane species: Sandhill Cranes and Whooping Cranes. The Platte River in Nebraska is essential for both these species, serving as a roosting area as well as a key part of their migration route.

Matt Fong received his bachelor’s degree from Hastings College and an MBA from the University of Nebraska. He is a lifelong resident of the Platte River area and currently lives in Hastings with his wife, daughter, and English Bulldog.
